Election 2024
Welcome to the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery Association's 2024 Election page.

We are excited about being able to gather for our 2024 Seminole Days celebration this year. One of the most important tasks that we will be performing is the election of our 2024 officers and board members. If you are interested in running for a position or if you would like to nominate someone, all the information you need to do so should be available if you click through this section. If you would like a candidate questionnare, please contact us at [email protected] to request one.
As always, if you have any questions, please ask.
2024 SISCA ELECTION GUIDELINES

The Board will announce the results on Saturday, September 21 during our annual meeting during Seminole Days.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS

  • A. Eligibility for Elected Office

Descendant members who meet the following criteria are eligible to run for elected office or board of directors:
  • are 18 years or older
  • are a fully paid member of SISCA for, at least, two consecutive years
  • are able and willing to be physically present for, at least, 1/2 of the board meetings (two meetings) and by telephone for the remaining two.
  • are willing and able to be physically present in Brackettville on a regular basis to provide care for the physical structures at least 4 times per year.
  • have demonstrated a commitment to SISCA over time by being a board member, being active on a SISCA committee or in other support activities for SISCA, and regularly attending general meetings (in person or by teleconference)
  • must complete and submit the candidate questionnaire

Any candidate who is written in at the last minute and wins will have to be approved by the board before taking office. In cases where they are not approved, the next qualified candidate will take the office.
Descendant members are not eligible for elected office if they have any conflict of interest, such as if they are currently a governing member or founding member in a competing organization or have been during the two years prior to the election. The Board will determine which organizations are considered competing based on an examination of their actions toward SISCA.

c. Election Time Frame
  • Until 11:59 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024: Individuals may self-nominate or nominate others for an officer or board position by filling out this questionnaire and returning it to SISCA via email ([email protected]).
  • Tuesday, August 13, 2024 to Saturday, August 31, 2024: Ballots will be mailed to all regular/descendant members who are eligible to vote.
  • Ballots will be accepted and voting will take place until 5:00PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
  • Election results will be announced during the annual meeting on Saturday, September 21, 2024
