Election 2022 - eligibilty to run


Eligibility to Run for Office or Board

A.   Eligibility for Elected Office
Descendant members who meet the following criteria are eligible to run for elected office: 
·      are 18 years or older
·      are a fully paid member of SISCA for, at least, two consecutive years 
·      are able and willing to be physically present for, at least, 1/2 of the board meetings (two meetings) and by telephone for the remaining two.
·      are willing and able to be physically present in Brackettville on a regular basis to provide care for the physical structures, at least, four times per year. 
·      have demonstrated a commitment to SISCA over time by being a board member (before running for president or vice-president)
·      must complete and submit the candidate questionnaire by August 15, 2022 prior to Seminole Days. 
 
Any candidate who is written in at the last minute and wins will have to be approved by the board before taking office. In cases where they are not approved, the next qualified candidate will take the office. 
Descendant members are not eligible for elected office if they have any conflict of interest, such as if they are currently a governing member or founding member in a competing organization or have been during the two years prior to the election. The Board will determine which organizations are considered competing based on an examination of their actions toward SISCA.
B.    Eligibility for Board of Directors
Descendant members who meet the following criteria are eligible to run for the board: 
 
     are 18 years or older
·      are a fully paid member of SISCA for, at least, two consecutive years 
·      are able and willing to be physically present for, at least, 1/2 of the board meetings (two meetings) and by telephone for the remaining two.
·      are willing and able to be physically present in Brackettville on a regular basis to provide care for the physical structures, at least, four times per year. 
·      have demonstrated a commitment to SISCA over time by being a board member (before running for president or vice-president)
·      must complete and submit the candidate questionnaire by August 15, 2022 prior to Seminole Days. 
 
·      Any board member who is not contributing adequately to the organization can be removed and replaced by a 2/3 vote of the entire board and officers. ·
​       
·      Any candidate who is written in at the last minute and wins will have to be approved by the board before taking office. In cases where they are not approved, the next qualified candidate will take the office. 
Descendant members are not eligible for the board if they have any conflict of interest, such as if they are currently a governing member or founding member in a competing organization or have been during the two years prior to the election.
