Friday, September 20, 2019:
  • 7:00 AM – Trip to Seminole Canyon (Meet at the Carver School at 6:30 AM) Organized by Cynthia Atchico
  • 4:30 PM – Volunteer Meeting (Carver School). If interested in volunteering, please attend! All are welcome!
  • 6:00 – 8:00 PM – Meet & Greet/Lecture Series: Dr. Anthony E. Dixon, author of Florida’s Negro War
Saturday, September 21, 2019:
  • 8:30 AM – Marker Dedication: Robert “Bobby” Kibbetts (Fort Clark Springs)
  • 10:00 AM – Parade (Participants line up at Brackett ISD at 9:30 AM/ends at Carver School)
  • 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Voting for 2019 Election/Membership Renewal (Carver School) (Voting by eligible SISCA Descendant members only)
  • 11:00 AM – Annual Program: Guest Speaker: Dr. Rosalyn Howard, author of Black Seminoles in the Bahamas
  • 12:00 PM – BBQ Plate Sale begins
  • 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Elders’ Circle: Sharing Stories to Honor the Past
Linguist Dr. Ian Hancock will open this new event by telling a story in the ancestors’ language, which he learned from Brackettville elders in 1976. Bring your elders to the circle so they can share their stories of growing up as a descendant. Join us as we celebrate the rich history they have lived.
  • 5:00 – 6:00 PM – Annual Meeting and Election Results
  • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Pasta Dinner prepared by Dr. Al Nofi
  • 8:00 PM – 1:00 AM – Dance
Throughout the entire day, there will be vendors and booths and museum visits.
Sunday, September 22, 2019:
  • 10:00 AM – Service at the Seminole Indian Scouts Cemetery
  • 12:00 PM – Potluck Lunch (Carver School)
